# Odyn vs Waalaxy: which one for a recruiting firm?

> Waalaxy sends LinkedIn messages to a list you build. Odyn builds the list from job postings and writes to the hiring manager. Features, pricing.

By Franck Durandot, founder of Odyn. Updated October 20, 2026.

Waalaxy sends connection requests and messages on LinkedIn to a list you give it. Odyn, the AI prospecting agent for recruitment firms, builds that list itself: it starts from published job postings, finds the person who owns the hire, writes to them from your own email and LinkedIn account, and follows up until they answer. One automates the sending. The other also does the work that comes before the sending. If your list already exists, Waalaxy is enough. If your real problem is knowing which companies to call this week, the choice looks different.

## What Waalaxy does well

Waalaxy is a LinkedIn automation tool, with email added in its top plan. You build a list from a LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator, Recruiter Lite or a CSV file, pick one of more than 99 ready-made message flows, and the tool sends the invitations and the follow-ups. An AI assistant helps write the messages. Replies land in one inbox, and the tool connects to HubSpot and Pipedrive, plus other apps through Make, Zapier and n8n. On a team, lists and campaigns are shared, and a rule keeps the same person from being contacted twice.

It is a general-purpose tool. Its site speaks to founders, sales reps, recruiters and headhunting firms, and the recruiter use case it shows points at candidates ("reach the best talent before they apply elsewhere"). Starting at €19 per user per month, it is an easy tool to adopt, and you can aim it at any audience.

The pages we read do not describe any way to detect companies that are hiring. In this model, the list is your job.

## Why the list decides everything

Sending 300 or 800 invitations a month is the easy part for software. What it cannot guess is which company has a reason to take your call today. A search for "plant manager, Ohio or Indiana, 100 to 1,000 employees" returns hundreds of names. How many of them have an open role this month? The list does not say: the reason to write to each one is still yours to find.

A recruiting firm has a hook that other businesses do not: a company that posts a job has just said it needs someone. Starting from the posting instead of the profile changes the first message, and it changes who you write to. Odyn's data come mostly from French job postings, so read this as a direction, not a US benchmark: across more than 2,000 decision-makers Odyn contacted, operations leaders and executives gave about four times more interested replies than in-house recruiters (see [how to find the hiring decision-maker](https://www.odynagent.com/en/resources/finding-the-hiring-decision-maker)). When you search by title, you type "talent acquisition manager" almost by reflex. That is the easiest profile to find, not the most receptive one.

## What Odyn does

Odyn finds companies that are hiring in your target (roles, locations, industry) and sets aside postings that mean nothing to a recruiting firm. For each opening it looks for the decision-maker and a business contact, then writes a message from the posting and your specialty, in your voice. Messages go out from your own email address and LinkedIn account, on business days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. When a decision-maker replies, Odyn stops: the conversation is yours, and Odyn never answers for you. If the decision-maker accepts the LinkedIn invitation, Odyn suggests you call.

For the first three business days you review every message before it leaves. After that Odyn sends on its own, after the delay you chose. Clients and prospects you put on the exclusion list are never contacted. The [AI prospecting agent guide](https://www.odynagent.com/en/resources/ai-prospecting-agent-for-recruiters) explains the mechanics, and the [pricing page](https://www.odynagent.com/en/pricing) the cost.

## Side by side

| | Waalaxy | Odyn |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Automates invitations, messages and follow-ups for your list | Finds the company, finds the decision-maker, writes, sends, follows up |
| Where the list comes from | Your LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator, Recruiter Lite or CSV | Job postings in your target |
| Finding the contact | Yours; email lookup by credits (500 a month on Business, 25 per the page on lower plans) | Included, with business contact details |
| Writing | You, from message flows and an AI assistant | Odyn, from the posting and your specialty |
| Channels | LinkedIn; LinkedIn plus email campaigns on Business | LinkedIn and email |

## When to choose Waalaxy over Odyn

Choose Waalaxy if the list already exists. A firm that wants to reactivate eight hundred former contacts, the attendees of a trade show or the members of a chamber of commerce does not need anyone to look for job postings. It needs the messages to go out. That is the case Waalaxy fits.

Choose it too if you approach candidates on LinkedIn. Odyn prospects companies; it does not source candidates. The same goes for retained executive search by direct approach: if your clients are executives who never post a job, starting from job postings gets you nothing.

And if you like to tune your own message flows and your budget is under seventy euros a month, Waalaxy leaves every setting in your hands.

## When Odyn fits better

Odyn fits when what you lack is the list itself, and the time to keep it current: finding the postings, finding who decides, finding the email, writing a message that mentions the actual job. It fits when you want email and LinkedIn in one motion. In Odyn's messages, a LinkedIn invitation drew about twice as many interested replies as email, with a comparable number of replies; these are trends measured over a few months, which we re-measure every night, and the reason the [LinkedIn automation guide](https://www.odynagent.com/en/resources/linkedin-automation-for-recruiters) suggests using both channels together.

And it fits a firm whose recruiters spend the week with clients and candidates, and who want the business development to keep going without them. If a decision-maker answers, they pick up the call and the job order is theirs to win.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use Waalaxy and Odyn together?

Yes, if you split the roles. Both write from your LinkedIn account, so if each contacts the same people, a hiring manager receives two approaches from the same recruiter. The simplest split gives Waalaxy your candidates and your existing lists, and Odyn the companies that are hiring. Add the contacts Waalaxy is already working to Odyn's exclusion list. Both also draw on the same LinkedIn invitation limit: Odyn counts the ones you send elsewhere, but set Waalaxy lower so the weekly total stays reasonable.

### Which costs less for 450 decision-makers a month?

Waalaxy, if you count only the subscription. Reaching that volume takes at least the Advanced plan (800 invitations a month, €49), or Business (€69) if you also want email. What remains is your time: building the list, finding addresses, writing or adapting each message. Odyn costs €290 per month per consultant, excl. VAT and includes that work.

### How do I avoid writing to my current clients?

In Waalaxy, a team rule prevents contacting the same person twice, but you remove your clients from the list yourself before launching it. In Odyn, you put your clients and prospects on the exclusion list, and Odyn does not contact them.
