In short
LinkedIn Recruiter Professional Services Plus (RPS+) is LinkedIn's seat for staffing and recruiting firms: candidate search, InMail, market analytics, and a Business Development mode that helps you write to hiring managers. That mode drafts one message for one person at a time. You pick the person, read the draft and send it. Odyn, the AI prospecting agent for recruitment firms, handles the work around the draft: it finds the companies that are hiring, finds the decision-maker, writes, sends on LinkedIn and email, follows up, and stops at the reply. They do not replace each other. RPS+ serves the whole job of the firm; Odyn serves only the hunt for clients.

What an RPS+ seat gives a firm
LinkedIn pitches RPS+ as its most advanced solution for staffing and recruiting firms, covering the work from sourcing to placement. The comparison page in LinkedIn's help center gives it 140 InMails per seat per month, 50 profiles outside your network opened each month, more than 40 search filters, and bulk messaging to 25 recipients with AI personalization. It adds 20 free collaborator licenses per Recruiter license (for a hiring manager or a client), more than 28 ATS integrations, access to Talent Insights, and LinkedIn's Hiring Assistant as an add-on.
For a firm whose work is mostly sourcing, this is the main tool, and it is normal that client development is one chapter among several. The price is not public: it depends on company size and number of seats, and LinkedIn asks you to talk to its sales team. The commitment is not stated publicly either.
The Business Development mode, step by step
Only RPS+ seats have it, and LinkedIn is rolling it out gradually. According to LinkedIn's help article, you use it like this:
- Open the profile of the person you want to write to and click the compose icon.
- In the "Hire for a client" menu, choose Business Development.
- Pick or create a Unique Selling Point: a description of your service (pre-filled from your company's LinkedIn page), plus, if you like, anonymized sample candidates. Each license can save ten, and they are not shared with colleagues.
- Generate the draft, read it, send it.
The AI works from the recipient's name, title and company, from your profile, and from LinkedIn Talent Insights data about the company: headcount growth, hiring velocity, attrition, talent flow. LinkedIn describes the mode as a customization of the Recruiter InMail. It handles one-to-one messages only. It works in eleven languages, English among them.
LinkedIn also lists a Business Development mode for search and "Business Development Spotlights" for RPS+. The pages we reviewed do not detail either.
What the mode leaves for you to do
The mode speeds up writing. It does not choose the company, the person or the timing, and the pages we read describe no automatic follow-up. For fifty hiring managers, that is fifty profile visits, fifty drafts to read, and then the follow-ups by hand. Each message can be good, but the firm remains the engine.
The choice of target is left too, and the hiring-velocity figure LinkedIn puts into the draft reads two ways for a recruiting firm. Across nearly 5,000 job postings Odyn wrote to between June and October 2026, an employer with a single posting online over two months produced about three times as many interested replies as other employers. These are trends measured over a few months, mostly on French postings, which we re-measure every night; the guide to prospecting companies that are hiring goes through them.
What Odyn does
Odyn starts from published job postings in your target (roles, locations, industry), sets aside the ones that mean nothing to a recruiting firm, and looks for the person who decides each hire, with business contact details. It writes the message from the posting and your specialty, in your voice, and sends it from your own email address and LinkedIn account on business days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. To the hiring manager, the recruiter is the one writing.
It follows up with restraint until there is a reply. When a decision-maker answers, Odyn stops and never replies for you. If the person accepts the LinkedIn invitation, Odyn suggests you call. You review messages during the first three business days; after that it sends on its own, after the delay you set. Odyn does no candidate sourcing and no placement tracking: that is what RPS+ covers. The AI prospecting agent guide walks through it.

When to choose RPS+ over Odyn
RPS+ is the right choice when sourcing is most of what you do and client development happens through relationships. It is also right for a firm with several recruiters working the same job orders: shared projects, licenses for clients, reporting, an ATS integration. And if you like writing your own messages one by one, with a draft that already knows the company, the Business Development mode saves time and takes nothing away from you.
When Odyn fits better
Odyn fits when what you lack is a steady flow of conversations with hiring managers, without spending your evenings on it. A four-person firm placing accountants, whose job orders thin out each summer, does not need better drafting: it needs dozens of new companies contacted every week and someone following up. Odyn also fits if you want to reach hiring managers by email, which RPS+ does not cover, and if you prefer a price you can read on a page (the pricing is public).
For what can be delegated on LinkedIn and what should stay in your hands, the LinkedIn automation guide goes through it. The other tools in this family have their own comparison, starting with Odyn vs Waalaxy. The rest is in the comparison index.
Referrals: down to paying nothing
Every firm you bring in takes 10% off your subscription for as long as it stays subscribed. With 10 referred firms, Odyn costs you nothing. The firm you refer gets 10% off for as long as it stays subscribed, and 50% off its first month if it chooses the monthly plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use RPS+ and Odyn together?
Yes, and the split is natural: RPS+ to find candidates and work open job orders, Odyn to reach the companies that are hiring. Odyn does not need RPS+ to run; it connects to your LinkedIn account and your mailbox.
Does the Business Development mode use up InMails?
LinkedIn describes it as a customization of the Recruiter InMail. The allowance listed for RPS+ is 140 InMails per seat per month; the help page does not say how it is shared between candidate and client messages.
Do I get Business Development mode on RPS or Recruiter Lite?
According to LinkedIn's help center, no: the mode is reserved for RPS+ seats, and the comparison page lists no business development feature for Recruiter Lite, RPS or Recruiter.
