Odyn vs. Mantiks: Which One Fits a Recruiting Firm?

In short

Mantiks is a data product: it tells you which companies are hiring and who runs the hire, with a business email, a phone number and a LinkedIn profile. Odyn, the AI prospecting agent for recruiting firms, takes the next step and writes to those hiring managers from your own mailbox and LinkedIn account, then follows up until someone replies. If you recruit in the US or the UK, there is one more question before price: whether the data covers your market, and what each tool does with it once you have it.

Does Mantiks cover US and UK job postings?

Its pages say yes, with caveats worth reading. Mantiks's data pages describe worldwide coverage refreshed every 24 hours, there is a dedicated United Kingdom page (job boards "in United Kingdom", hiring-manager details, and a filter that excludes recruiting agencies), and the US shows up in its examples. A comparison page it publishes against another data vendor lists LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Welcome to the Jungle, France Travail and Hellowork as sources, and mentions 12 European countries "according to current product materials", with historical depth varying by country.

None of that settles what you will actually see for, say, a search for ICU nurses in Phoenix. The site does not publish counts by country. Mantiks has a 7-day free trial, and the sensible test is to run your own three searches in it before paying anything. Prices are in euros: €99 per month (Starter, 500 credits) and €190 per month (Growth, 1,000 credits), excluding tax, on an annual commitment, with a 3-month Discovery option whose price is not published. Extra seats start at €34 per month. The pricing page does not say what one credit buys; the API page charges one credit per company found.

What the data does well

It is a strong tool for the research half of business development. Mantiks can name the end client behind a posting placed by a competing agency, with a confidence score. It can take a candidate's CV and list companies hiring similar profiles. It watches a list of accounts and alerts you, which is useful for former clients. For a firm with a CRM or an ATS, the API and webhooks (Growth plan) push opportunities straight in.

What it does not do, on the pages we read, is send anything. Its own blog describes the workflow: set your criteria, export to CSV or to another tool, write a first message in three beats (the posting, your expertise, a simple question), then follow up on day 3, day 7 and day 14, up to three to five times. A comparison page lists native sending as "coming soon".

Where the work goes next

Take 450 decision-makers in a month, the volume Odyn's subscription covers. At the pace Mantiks's blog recommends, one message plus three follow-ups, that is 1,800 messages a month to draft, send and track, before you read a single reply. Whatever the tool, the sender is you. In the US, the FTC says CAN-SPAM makes no exception for business-to-business email: accurate sender details, a postal address and a working opt-out apply. In the UK, the ICO's PECR guidance treats companies and sole traders differently, and a named individual's address brings in the UK GDPR.

Volume is not the scarce thing either. The BLS reported 7.1 million job openings in the US in August 2026 against 5.2 million hires. The hard part is deciding which of those openings a recruiting firm should chase, and whom to write to. On the second question we have a measurement: among more than 2,000 decision-makers Odyn contacted between June and September 2026, operations leaders and company heads gave about four times as many interested replies as in-house recruiters, who more often answer that hiring stays in-house. That finding comes from mostly French postings, so treat it as a lead to test on your own market, not a rule.

What Odyn does

From published job postings, Odyn finds the companies hiring in the recruiter's target (roles, locations, industry) and sets aside postings of no interest to a recruiting firm. It finds the decision-maker for each hire, writes a message based on the posting and on the firm's specialty, in the recruiter's own style, and sends it by email and LinkedIn on business days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For the first three business days the recruiter reviews and approves every message; after that, Odyn sends after the delay the recruiter chose. It follows up with restraint, stops when a decision-maker replies, and never answers in the recruiter's place. The AI prospecting agent guide walks through it, and the subscription (€290 per month per consultant, excluding VAT, 450 decision-makers a month) is on the pricing page.

Odyn started in France, and its track record is on French postings. If your firm works in the US or the UK, ask for coverage of your market during the 15-minute demo before you subscribe.

When to pick Mantiks over Odyn

Pick Mantiks when you want the data and will write the messages yourself. An executive search partner who contacts fifteen hand-picked companies a month and writes each note after reading the posting does not need an agent. The same goes if your edge is the end-client lookup behind other agencies' postings, CV-led prospecting, or feeding an ATS through the API. And if you work a market outside France and Odyn cannot yet confirm coverage for it, a tool that states a UK and a worldwide data offer is the safer starting point today.

When Odyn fits better

Odyn fits a recruiter whose bottleneck is the follow-up, not the list. Business development tends to happen in bursts, between searches. An agent writes on every business day, from your own accounts, and hands you each conversation the moment a decision-maker answers. If you would rather not pick a sending tool or build the workflow around a data export, that is the gap it fills. To go deeper on the method itself, read the guides on prospecting companies that are hiring and finding the hiring decision-maker, or browse the other comparisons.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run Mantiks and Odyn side by side?

You can, but they overlap: Odyn does not need a list, because it finds the hiring companies itself. Keeping Mantiks makes sense for what it does that Odyn does not set out to do, such as the CV-led search, the end-client lookup behind other agencies' postings, or the watch list of former clients.

Does Mantiks bill in dollars?

Not on the pages we read. Its prices appear in euros, excluding tax. The pages do not say which currency your card is charged in, so check the invoice during the trial.

What is Mantiks's outsourced prospecting offer?

The pricing page lists it on request: Mantiks designs and runs the prospecting for you, around your targeting, enrichment, qualification and CRM integration, and delivers opportunities on an ongoing basis. Beyond that line, the content and the price are not public, so it is closer to a managed service than to an agent you configure once.
